Soccer Star!

Today was our first soccer game and it was absolutely adorable!  Most of the kids were really excited and the two that weren't at least watched to see how it goes and hopefully they will join us next week.  The game was the usual 3 year-old mayhem and it was so fun to watch them play together with another team.  Our kids were definitely more prepared than the other team which I think made Matt feel good because he always worries he's not teaching them enough.  We had one very tiny injury...little Addyson fell and scraped her face on some dried grass but it look more like a welt than a scratch and she got right back up and kept playing, so we were relieved about that.  Hayden didn't get much of a chance to score a goal because the two times he was close, he got knocked down, but that's pretty much what happened to the other kids too.  He did get to run with the ball a lot and also did a kickoff so I was excited for him.  I thought Matt did an amazing job coaching and I am so proud when I watch how patient and sweet he is with the kids.  He makes sure to go to each child individually for a high-five and tells them something great they did that day.  He's really a great coach.  Here's some downright cute pictures of the game...Most of them are of before and after because I was so excited to watch him that I completely forgot I was holding my camera.  The good thing is we have 8 games to go, so I'm sure there will be some wonderful shots at each one.
