Koala Bear,
Wow, I am in awe that we have come to your 3rd birthday already. It feels like just days ago, you were our bouncy little blue-eyed baby and now you have become a little boy. There's nothing "baby" about you, but I still can't help but call you "baby" when we are together. I am so proud of how far you have come in just three years and I am overjoyed daily at how amazing you are. You are learning so much every day about the world and it makes me feel like a kid again to watch you explore. I wanted to write you a letter here to document some of the wonderful things we love about you at 3 years old. My favorite thing right now is the amazing amount of conversation we have. You will talk for hours on end with us and it is so wonderful to connect with you on such an intelligent level. You are still very close with your MeeMaw and you have your own special activities, jokes and routines together and I think it's wonderful. You are so blessed to have a MeeMaw like her and I know she feels the same about you! Daddy and you also have your own special relationship and I always laugh at all the fun and silly things you do together. You make up songs, play silly games and you learn a lot from Daddy about manners and how to treat people, which I'm grateful for. I know you will turn out to be just like him and that's 100% ok with me. You and I are inseperable and I am so lucky to have that relationship with you. I love coloring with you, sleeping next to you and taking walks with you. Our favorite game is Koala Bear where you wrap yourself around me like a baby koala and we walk around the house. I hope we can always be as close as we are now because you and Daddy are the most special things in my life. You are interested in a lot of things right now such as soccer, baseball, construction equipment, books and most of all, Space. You can name all of the planets, a few constellations and love to hear all about how astronauts work in space. We are even having your birthday party be all about Space so you can share your love of it with all of your friends. Speaking of friends, you have such a great group of friends and I love that you are not shy with other children once you get to know them. You enjoy making up games to play with other children and can be a little bossy, but that's ok because I know you are learning how to ask politely if someone would like to play the game you are coming up with. You are not an aggressive boy at all and we are so thankful for this. You are very intelligent and I love seeing you use the skills you are learning. You can write your letter "H" and almost have the "A" down as well. You are learning to add and subtract using your fingers and your problem-solving skills are wonderful. You also very easily learn words by sight which is a wonderful skill that will help you in kindergarten. I am in awe of your sense of humor as well these days. You tell jokes, make up stories and then say, "Just kidding!" and you seem to make us laugh all day long now. You are just a happy, well rounded child with a very good head on your shoulders. I am so excited to celebrate your 3rd birthday, my love, and I know you are going to love all of the fun things we have ready for you both on your birthday and on your party day. I love you precious boy and I am so lucky to have you as my son.
