We had an amazing day today and I wish it would never end. We relaxed this morning playing games and hanging out in the yard while Matt rode mountain bikes at Fantasy Island. Hayden, MeeMaw and I also made a concrete stepping stone that turned out really cute. Hayden's best buddy Amelia had her birthday party this afternoon and he had a great time playing at the park and hitting a pinata. I loved the interaction between the kids at the party and they really needed no supervision at all. It was nice to go to a party like ours where no one was aggressive and they all played well. Those are the parties I like! This evening, Hayden's godparents, Hayley and James came over for dinner and we had a great time with them. Little man is now tucked in his bed ready for his first day of "big boy school" tomorrow. I will try to take a picture of him with his backpack on the way in tomorrow. Love to All!

Double Header Soccer Game
This morning was our only double header soccer game this season and I really expected total chaos after the first game. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that all of the kids played the whole two games and had a blast. I can't say enough how great Matt is with those kids and they just love him. At any given point in a game, he has at least 2 of them hanging off his arms and it is so sweet. Hayden enjoyed the game as usual and he especially enjoyed the Teddy Grahams and Fritos afterwards! We are in the process of planning end end-of-season potluck since we have 3 weeks of games left (next weekend is out bi-week). After the game, he got his post-soccer dairy-free sorbet and this week he chose peach, which he loved.
This afternoon is going to be a lot of fun for Hayden. We are taking him to Funtastics to play miniature golf and games with our friends Justin and Lauren and I know he's going to love it. The kid is a little Tiger Woods (minus the mistresses) on the mini-golf course and it's fun to watch him play. There will most definitely be pictures of that later this evening!

Beautiful Afternoon
Yesterday afternoon after work and school, we headed to Lakeside Park to throw rocks in the lake and feed the ducks. The park itself and the water in the lake are definitely not that nice, but Hayden sure doesn't care and we had fun. We ended up being followed by a ack of about 50 ducks after we were done feeding them and Hayden thought it was really funny. He kept turning to them and saying, "Silly ducks, I'm out of food for you but don't worry I'll come back with more."
When we got home, we didn't want to waste any of the beautiful weather, so we went out back with the sidewalk chalk and made a huge mess all over the patio. Hayden wrote his little letter "H" everywhere and we traced eachother's hands and feet, which he loved. When Matt came out, he drew a huge racecar and he and Hayden made up stories about winning a race in his chalk car.
I'm really enjoying Hayden being 3 years old. He's so full of questions and stories and tells us all about his day and what he did at school. I know babies are awesome and cute but I am sort of partial to the big-boy phase! Hee's some pictures from out outside adventures!

Rocks and an Ice cream truck
I have to say, there's adventure around every corner with Matt around. He always coming up with cool things to do, such as buying a popsicle from the ice cream man and smashing rocks with a hammer to find quartz. I am always astonished at the fun things he thinks of and Hayden loves everything they do. After soccer practice today, we heard the ice cream man coming down the street. I am normally not the person that would ever let my child buy ANYTHING from an ice cream truck, and I specifically remember telling a friend a couple weeks ago that he won't know what an ice cream truck is, but hey, you gotta live a little, right? It turned out the guy was very nice, had his health department license posted in the window and took the time to read the ingredients on all of the packages to find a dairy-free popsicle. Hayden got to hand the guy his money, give him a tip in his jar and say "Thank You" with no help aside from me lifting him high enough to reach. I told the guy he would definitely see us in the near future for another treat. As I write, Hayden is currently enjoying his massive red and blue popsicle that he will never finish and his hands are dyed blue!
After he bought his treat, Matt found a cool rock in front of our house that he said would have something inside of it. He took Hayden into the garage, grabbed a hammer and a covering for the rock to make it safe for Hayden to be near it, and they started banging. After a few good whacks, they discovered a cool redish interior inside the rock, and Hayden has since brought it inside to save. I have a feeling that tomorrow after school, we will be searching the wash behind our house for more rocks to crack open and discover. I love doing stuff like this with Hayden...it's like a little science experiment.

Party Time
First thing today we took Hayden to Frost for his dairy-free sorbet and he loved it as usual. This week he chose raspberry which we just call pink sorbet so he doesn't get disgusted that it's full of fruit. He gobbled it all up and was definitely ready to party after that!
Today our friend Kylie had a party for her daughter Aubreigh's 3rd birthday. Aubreigh is ten days younger than Hayden and we were very excited to celebrate with them. The party was at Kylie's mom's home out on the west side of town and it was beautiful. She is from England and her home is decorated in lots of traditional English decor. Jane was excited to send the afternoon with another English woman and we all had a lot of fun. Hayden was the ONLY boy out of 15 kids at the party but he didn't care at all. He jumped on the trampoline (which I see in our very near future in our yard because he loved it), rode Aubreigh's pink quad around the yard and played dinosaurs. I am also happy to report that he ate 7 green grapes at lunch. I was so excited to see him try another new food and I am heading to the store tomorrow to get some. I have tried to give them to him countless times in the past and he has now decided he's ready to eat them. Yay for expanding his diet with yet another food!
I think we are officially in for birthday parties galore next month. We have Amelia's next Sunday and then the 2 Sundays after that, he has parties for friends from school. I don't mind attanding all of them because he really enjoys the time with his friends and it's fun to show him that other people get a special day just like he gets. He also loves picking out birthday gifts for his friends.
Here's some photos from today!! Love to everyone!!

"Gorgeous" doesn't do them justice
On our way to Costco this morning, we decided to cruise through the foothills to check out the snowy mountains. They are just absolutely beautiful with the sun gleaming off of the snow. Here's some of what we saw...unfortunately these photos don't even do them justice but you get the idea!
Splish Splash
Hayden was making us "coffee" and "Frappaccinos" this morning when he was in the tub and Matt captured some very cute photos. He would sit in the tub forever with his little Yookidoo bathtub shower toy and serve us all kids of delicious drinks. Yes, we must drink that much coffee that our kid can name sizes and styles of Starbucks drinks! ;)
Our soccer game for today was cancelled due to the storm we had last night. It is very cold and wet so I think it's best to keep the little ones indoors anyways. We plan on a typical Costco run and then an afternoon of hanging out at the house writing out Birthday Thank You cards, but I am very excited for it. We need a whole day of downtime after the Birthday craziness, and come to think of it, we are taking tomorrow to do the same as well!!
The mountains here are absolutely gorgeous covered in snow and I will take some pictures of them when we go out and post them later. Love you all!!

Showing off the fact that he can scream and the tub echos
Not sure why Blogger won't take out the red eyes
"Daddy, what size Frappaccino would you like?"
"Here, it's hot so you need to be careful!"
