A very busy Saturday!

Wow, we had a very busy day yesterday....and it looks like all the saturdays for the rest of the month will be similar.  Matt went to hand out sack lunches to the homeless in the parks around town.  He ended up riding for several hours and was exhausted afterwards, but he says it was worth it because hundreds of people had a nutritious, well-balanced meal that they normally don't get.  Hayden and I started our day by going to the parent meeting for his soccer team.  Matt was chosen as the Head Coach and he has 2 assistants to help him.  I am the Team Mom and in charge of snacks, uniforms, trophys, pictures, etc.  Hayden's first practice is Monday afternoon and we will practice from now through February, every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30-5:00.  Our first game isn't until January 9th, so we have a month to somewhat show the kids what the game of soccer is.  It's going to be a great time for all of them and I am so excited to watch Hayden play with his new friends!

After the meeting, Hayden and I went to lunch together, which we haven't done just the 2 of us for a while.  Then, we went to the zoo with our friends Deb and Scott and their kids Ethan, 4, and Juliette, 6.  Hayden, Ethan and Juiette had a blast together and it didn't matter that either of them are older than he is...He just loves older kids!  We rode the train, saw the whole zoo and of course had a zoo juice.

The last thing on our agenda was Jenna's 3rd birthday party.  Hayden and Jenna went to school together for over a year and it has been fun to still be able to reconnect with her sometimes.  Hayden and his friend Marshall spent the whole party playing together, running in the grass and sliding.  I am so thankful he has such wonderful friends, near and far to play with!

That was the short version of our day.  We are off to decorate the whole house for Christmas and put up the tree, so I will post pictures this evening.
