Little things

Not sure why Blogger wouldn't let me rotate this one.  You get the idea :)

Hayden got a broccoli plant from a lady telling stories about gardens at the Story Town event on Saturday.  The little plant was in a Dunkin Donuts cup and already sort of yellow looking so we decided to get it re-planted right away.   Hayden had a great time putting the soil in, burying the roots and loves watering it.  I am hoping the parts that are a little yellow will bounce back after a few days of some good sunlight and water.  I am inspired to plant a full garden in the Spring with carrots, potatoes, broccoli, etc.  Hayden loves helping in the garden and it's great quality time as a family.  Let's just hope I find my green thumb somewhere.

Also, check out these tiny little shin guards that Hayden got for soccer!  They are literally the size of my hand and I cannot wait to try them on him.  He is very excited to play and Matt will be the coach so it should be an awesome time.  We start practices the week of December 10th and his first game is around January 9th.  I am so happy Hayden will have the opportuity to play with other kids from around the area and it is just for fun.  There are no scores, everyone gets equal playing time, and parents aren't allowed to yell at the kids from the sidelines.  No pressure, no competition, just teamwork and fun for one practice and one 20 minute game a week.  He will have his own personalized jersey with matching shorts and socks, which is obviously more for me than him!  For those of you family members and friends who want to capture every moment you can (don't blame you, he's brilliant), I will try to get some pics of his practices and vidoes of his games each week.  Love to you all :)
