Hayden got a new book this week about a little boy that made a spaceship and he of course, wanted to do one of his own. Matt brought home some boxes from work and we gathered several household items and a few from the store to build it with. Hayden decided what colors to use and where to put stripes and such and he painted a lot of it and helped with glue. We worked for quite a while this morning on it and then Grammy (my Mom) came over after nap and we worked on it again. I have to say, it was a lot of fun building something together and it looks awesome! I love these days when we just hang out at home with a project of some sort and we work together on it at our leisure. MeeMaw is at work today so I think we will save some little accessories like gluing foil on the sides and making antennas for tomorrow.Hayden had a blast playing in his finished ship all afternoon and he's even giving his stuffed animals rides in it as well. Things like this just prove that a little imagination, cardboard and paint can provide hours of creative play. Kids really don't need to be in front of a TV or movies all day to be entertained.
We are definitely going to the park before dinner and again tomorrow morning, plus our good friends Cathy and Tom (Hello, I know you read this!) will be over for dinner so I'm sure tomorrow afternoon I will have some more cute pictures.
