From scary to blissful

We had our first and certainly not last injury scare this morning.  Hayden was riding his bike down a hill at the park and his foot slipped off the pedal.  It got caught in between the pedal and the frame of the bike and it was STUCK!  Hayden was screaming in pain, I couldn't get his foot out and thank god Matt was there to be the level-headed one.  He was able to move the pedal take off his shoe and slip his foot out.  My first instinct was that he had broken his ankle and to scoop him up and go straight to the hospital but I decided to check out the damage first.  He had about a quarter-sized area of skin totally rubbed off the top of his foot and it was red but not bleeding, but it didn't look very swollen and he was able to walk on it and stopped crying right away.  There were several older people all walking dogs that came rushing over to us to check on him and I was really appreciative of their concern.  I think he will be fine with a few applications of ice today and I'm sure it will be bruised tomorrow.  If he acts like it is bothering him, I will take him to see Dr. G tomorrow.  I am so thankful he didn't turn his foot even another inch because it surely would have broken his ankle.  Whew...hopefully no more incidents like that for a while.

After a few minutes of rest and lots of cuddles, he was ready to go play again. We were the only people on the playground and had a blast climbing and sliding together. These pictures are priceless...He is the happiest kid I have ever met in my life and we are so blessed.

I have Wednesday off work for Veteran's Day so we have lunch with Daddy and a zoo trip planned.

I am so glad we stayed close to home this weekend and just hung out together.  Last weekend was so much activity that we needed some relaxation and next week may be relaxing time again because the weekend after is Ironman Arizona, shopping at Ikea and hopefully a trip to the train park while we are in Phoenix.  After that, bring on the crazy holidays...I'm ready for it!

Trying to scare Mommy

Check out that static hair!

Laughing uncontrollably

Yelling at Daddy

Precious

"I'm coming, Mommy!"

Yes, the helmet and bike match.  Matt is in the process of getting him a helmet made by a triathlon company so they don't match anymore.  He thinks it cramps Hayden's style :)

Heading to the baseball diamond to run the bases.
