Two and 9 Months!

As I was going over the calendar this morning with my preschoolers, I realized today is 3 months until Hayden's birthday!  I am sort of sad he is almost out of the toddler phase and moving on to being an official preschooler, but then I remind myself that there's nothing "toddler" about him anymore :(  We have been through the potty training, tantrums, sleep issues, etc and now he's becoming a little boy.  He's already learning lots of letters, numbers, shapes, etc. also so it's like he's put himself in kindergarten prep mode already.  I wish I could slow that down and have him go back to being my little baby but he's loving all of the things he's learning and his new favorite phrases are, "Tell me about ______ " (anything he sees that's interesting) and "I want to learn about this!"  I think I will just spend the next three months reminding myself how lucky we are to have such an awesome kid and if he wants to be a 3 year-old, oh well...Mommy will have to accept that! :)

We are going to a few birthday parties for his new school friends in the next few weeks so I am excited to meet all of the parents and put faces to the kids he is always talking about.  I'm so glad he is branching out and having such an easy time meeting new friends but at the same time keeping his old ones.  He's also going on a playdate with his friend A (from his old school) Sunday to the Butterfly Magic event so we have quite the little social kid on our hands.  If this is a preview of High School, we are in for it with this kid!
