Hayden's New Club

As I'm sure I told you...Our little man is quite the golfer. He absolutely loves hitting balls at the driving range and is pretty good at it. He makes contact with the ball far better than I do! He has been playing with the clubs from his Gator Golf game but it is plastic and he's getting too tall for it. We decided to get him his own real metal club to hit balls with. We weren't able to really find a club for a toddler and the one I did find was $100, for ONE club! Now, I am usually willing to get something good for Hayden if I know he will love it and take good care of it and I may have folded and bought it if it was a set of a few clubs, but ONE club for $100 seemed very steep.

Matt came up with an awesome idea to cut one of Grandpa Bill's clubs down to Hayden's size. he bought some bar tape (for bicycles) and some rubber handle crap, and went at the club with a saw. I wasn't completely convinced he would be able to cut it down and re-do the handle to make it useful. When he brought the club in the house to show Hayden, I was floored by how great it looked! Hayden gets to try it out tomorrow morning at the driving range, so I'm sure I'll have pictures. Here's what it looks like!

P.S.- Hayden's hair looks funky in the pictures because he had just gotten out of the bath. He got ahold of a bite of cheese pizza at school and threw up this afternoon before I picked him up :( Luckily, he just throws up, asks for water, changes clothes and moves on now. I really want to completely avoid exposure to dairy, whey and casein but I understand accidents do happen when other people are watching your kid. His teacher felt horrible and apologized 20 times. I think she was more upset than he was!
