We have known for some time now that Hayden tends to speak like Jane and pronounce certain words the way she does, but he usually would lose the pronunciation over time and go back to speaking like the rest of us. Lately, though, these little words have really stuck and they are SO cute. He says "Girl", "Daddy", "Can't", and "Buster" with a perfect little accent that totally melts my heart. I have had several random people pick up on it while talking to him and they all thought it was so funny. I hope it sticks around for good because it totally fits into his awesome little style he has going on. He's the coolest little English boy in Tucson!
Tomorrow is our first T-Ball game for summer and Hayden gets to wear his new silver jersey and grey pants. I got him some really breathable new pants, a spray fan and a frozen neck tie to wear to our summer games. I assume he will still be hot but he keeps telling me "Real baseball players play when it's hot too. I want to play" so I suppose I can't argue with that.
We were at Edith Ball swimming yesterday and the "Lifeguard Warden" (I call her that because she is super mean to every child she comes in contact with) was yelling at a little boy for holding onto the edge in the deep end. Hayden points at her and says, "That Girl (accent) is really mean to the children in the pool. I don't think she likes children!" I know she heard him because guess who made sure to give him a high five about ten minutes later? Hahahahahaha
Also, we were at the mall today and a lady was smoking right in front of the entrance to Dillards, which bothers the hell out of me but I was trying to ignore her. Hayden looks right at her and says, "Um, Smoking is really yucky. It will make you sick." The lady stared at me with her mouth open wide as if to suggest I should punish him for saying such a thing. I said, "That's right, Hayden. Smoking is yucky and will make you sick." I know I pissed her off but I'm sorry, smoking 2 feet in front of a door is illegal and Hayden was absolutely right.
Moral for today...don't be mean or smoke...Hayden's on patrol!
