Wow, it has been an amazing trip to Show Low and we are absolutely exhausted...Well, Matt and I are! We had an amazing time at the race and everything went well considering it was 95 degrees in the mountains all week. The staff tired a bit since it was just so damn hot, but we pulled it off and the race was great. Matt and I led the Deuceman bike race in the company hybrid car, which was awesome because the guy we were leading was really funny and every time we pulled up next to him, he was laughing and joking with us like he wasn't doing a 1/2 Ironman in 95 degree weather. I did a ton of organizational jobs such as awards, raffle prizes and parking passes, and Matt did 5 days of hard labor and rode quads and bikes delivering supplies.
Hayden got to fish, splash in the lake, hand out raffle prizes, make awards, and play with more sticks and rocks than I could ever count. He didn't eat ANYTHING while we were there though. I blame it on the altitude but he was just not hungry the whole time. He drank a bunch of soy milk so I know he at least got the vitamins but I am definitely going to get on him to eat the next couple of days to catch up.
Our cabin was gorgeous and it was just the three of us and 2 of Matt's friends from work in a huge cabin with a balcony and amazing views. Hayden was really into the hardwood floors and ran up and down the hallway stomping his feet most of the time he was there awake.
We had a great time away but now I am ready to get all of the laundry done today and recover from all of the excitement. Matt went to work to put out fires from when he was gone, so it will be just me and kiddo, hanging out and relaxing. I of course didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but I got some of the race and lots of Hayden. Love to All!
