I can't help but wish for September to go by as quickly as possible! I am over this heat and just want to be able to spend some quality time outside, running around at the park, strolling through the zoo, and just playing in the back yard. the past couple of days have been pretty tolerable and I know in a few weeks we will be able to really be outdoors every day. I am just not a summer person...I am probably in the wrong state!
Hayden has really taken to playing golf this past week. He asks us EVERY day if he can go. We have been going almost every day to the driving range and he is content to just take the balls out of the bucket one-by-one and hit them off a tee. He has learned how to properly position the tee to balance the ball and also has perfected his club-holding. He can actually hit the ball pretty far. Several of the older men at the driving range have commented that he is very good for his age...He's not Tiger Woods, but for a 2 1/2 year old, he seems to really impress the old guys at the range. He only has plastic clubs at this point, so I am going to get him a kid's set of metal clubs this weekend. Neither of us are golfers really, but we have gotten into it as well. I sort of want to get my own clubs now...not that I am any good at it, but oh well, Hayden thinks I am brilliant!
Hayden has also really adjusted to his home daycare and today he told me, "I love Ms. Carol, she is my best friend." It really warmed my heart because I want him to be happy and I was worried he wouldn't cooperate...He can be a little stubborn sometimes(wonder where he gets that from!) He also really likes the 2 little girls he goes there with. He tells me stories of them playing in the water, him showing them how big kids go to the potty, and he says they get to use glitter glue every day. He's not doing bad for his 3rd week! I love my job so far and I am so glad I decided to work for the YMCA. They have made me feel welcomed and the free YMCA membership is a sweet bonus. Matt's job is the same old business and he is enjoying it. Looking forward to our 3 day weekend. We are planning on braving Breakers on Labor Day, the last day of the season. It will probably be packed, but thank goodness Hayden tends to stay close-by and isn't a flight risk. We probably wouldn't brave the crowds if he was. I love the chaos so I'm sure it will be fun!
