Fun on 4th of July

Our typical 4th of July celebrations include hosting a bbq that gets way to packed, running all over the house and trying to catch a glimpse of the fireworks from our yard (which is next to impossible out here).  Since we just had a HUGE bbq last month for my birthday, we decided to let someone else host the craziness and we really wanted to watch the fireworks for real this time.  Our friends Briana and Eddie and their 2 kids Cassidy and little Eddie invited us over for hamburgers, hot dogs and s'mores.  It was a nice, quiet dinner with friends and the kids had a blast playing together as always.  After we ate, we all headed over to the parking lot at the abandoned baseball park that they only use for concerts now.  We set up chairs out at the very edge of the lot in the dark.  There were NO people with the same idea as us at all.  We had the massive parking lot all to ourselves to watch the shows.  We saw 6 of the shows, including the A Mountain fireworks that were right over us.  It was about 9:15 when those started and Hayden was so tuckered out, he fell asleep in Matt's arms during the show.  It was the most relaxing holiday we have ever had and I am so glad we did that instead of a crazy party.  The pictures are not the best from the dark parking lot, but you get the idea!
