Big Swimmer

Hayden started swim class at the Ott YMCA this afternoon and he did a great job.  When he realized Mommy really wasn't getting in the water with him, he cried for about 5 minutes about it but I didn't give in because I knew he would have fun once he realized the teacher was awesome.  He was a little nervous to go out into the water with the teacher since no one but Mommy and Daddy have ever taken him swimming, but he gladly blew bubbles, kicked, floated and even went totally under the water once with his teacher, Sam.  After class, he immediately started asking when we can go back, so I'm sure Thursday will be a piece of cake for him as far as leaving me.  He can do every skill they are teaching already with us, so this month will mostly be about confidence in the water without us to hold onto.  Next month, he will definitely need to move up a level to learn some real skills since the kids he's with now have no real water experience.  All in all, I was very happy with the first class and can't wait to see what he does Thursday!  And yes, that picture with his butt cheeks hanging out was from when he went under the water.  So cute!
