Children's Museum on a Rainy Day

Today couldn't have been any more ideal for a leasurly trip to the Children's Museum.  Matt was out riding bikes with a big group of friends, so Hayden and I decided to check out the Dr. Seuss Day and Inflatable Planetarium that were both visiting the museum.  It was wet and windy and it was so nice to be inside looking out at the gorgeous weather.

We met our friends Deb, Juliette and Ethan there and went through the normal museum stuff before the special events started.  We attended a Dr. Seuss storytime that the kids loved and for the first time, Hayden left me standing in the back of the room and went up front to sit with his friends for the story.  It was fun to watch him amongst a group of kids, clapping and interacting with the storyteller.

The Flandreau Science Center from the University of Arizona was visiting with their huge inflatable planetarium tent and I knew it was going to be perfect for Hayden, our little space expert.  He answered a lot of the questions the astronomer asked and the show was awesome.  I think we are going to try to visit the actual planetarium for the night time show next Saturday night.  They also mentioned that you can reserve a seat at the telescope they have on Mt. Lemmon so if that's not expensive, we may try to do that once all of the snow up there is gone.

It was a really nice day and it was fun to take Hayden to the museum on my own and talk to him about the exhibits and run around with him. Here's some photos of Hayden and his friends playing with the fun things they discovered and one of Matt out riding his new bike :)
